Missouri Valley IA – In the heart of Missouri Valley a dedicated soccer committee has thrived for over three decades nurturing young athletes and instilling valuable life skills. Today, Southwest Iowa Youth Development is proud to announce the launch of a campaign aimed at rebuilding the Missouri Valley soccer group after recent challenges left the community without this cherished program.
A Rich History of Success
For more than 30 years Missouri Valley soccer has been an integral part of the community providing young players with the opportunity to learn teamwork, discipline, and determination on the field. Volunteers have worked tirelessly to nurture the program, making it an essential part of the lives of many local families,
Recent Challenges
However recent disputes over the program’s operations, an outdated field lease agreement, and questions about the affiliated national organization’s commitment to the community have left the future of the Missouri Valley Soccer Group uncertain. In response to these challenges, the Missouri Valley City Council made a difficult decision to terminate the soccer field lease, further impacting the program.
Call to Action
Southwest Iowa Youth Development is reaching out to the community, supporters, friends, and neighbors to seek support and donations to help rebuild the Missouri Valley Soccer Group. The estimated cost to replace missing equipment and revive the program exceeds $50,000.
